Life Literacy Permission Slip
Community Action of Southern Indiana is proud to announce a new partnership with the Clark County School System. In working closely with, we have developed an exciting new program that will engage students in the 6th through 12th grades in our Life Literacy Academy. Students will participate in a multiple session classroom program that will address their developmental needs at critical checkpoints in their transformation from youth to healthy and productive adults. You might be asking yourself this question: “How will this program benefit my child?” Well, as you already know the transition from school year to school year can be a difficult time for many youth as they move closer to graduation and the thought of what is next.

While good grades are important, one must develop a sound plan for post-graduation. With so many pressures coming from the need to make good grades and figure out life after high school, it can be an overwhelming experience for any young person. The Life Literacy Academy program will help students prepare for the transition and pressures beyond their middle and high school experience. While college readiness is the priority, we will work with each student to develop a positive post-secondary plan regardless of the path he or she decides to take. The curriculum for this program will be primarily focused on Character Counts, the 40 Developmental Assets and Indiana Employability Skillsets.

If you would like your child to participate in the program, please complete the form and return it to school by the date stated below. By signing this form, you approve the participation of your child in this valuable school activity.

I understand the school’s request and hereby approve and grant permission for my child to participate in The Life Literacy Academy.
