Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) offers FREE tax preparation for low income members of our community with income below $58,000.
Community Action of Southern Indiana is looking for volunteers for the VITA program. Volunteers will help people and families who have made $58,000 or less and reside in Clark, Floyd, or Harrison Counties. Assistance will include tax preparation, Federal and State, and electronic tax filing. All volunteers need basic computer skills and enjoy working with numbers. Volunteers will be asked to work at least one day a week during tax season. For more information call CASI at 812-288-6451
Free Tax Preparation will start the last week of January to mid-October.

What to bring: Proof of identification (photo ID), Social Security card or Social Security statement,
Proof of health insurance, property taxes paid or landlord name and address, blank check for direct deposit and last year tax return if available. If joint return, both parties must be present to sign the return.
