The Family Services component emphasizes the role of parents as their child’s first and most important advocate. Family Services build relationships with families that support family well-being and positive parent-child relationships. In addition Family Service helps families to connect to peers and community, engage in transitions and become leaders.
• Offer parents opportunities to develop and implement individualized family partnership agreements that describe family goals, responsibilities, timetables and strategies for achieving these goals as well as progress in achieving them.
• Make referrals to community services and resources. Provide extra support to families that may have an emergency or crisis assistance in areas such as food, housing, clothing, and/or utility assistance.
• Provide a variety of opportunities for interaction with parents throughout the year. Such as Parent Meetings, Committee Meetings, Father Hood program, volunteering the classroom.
