The CASI has a variety of volunteer opportunities for both individuals and groups. Training is provided, as needed, to ensure a positive experience. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old or supervised by an adult. Ongoing opportunities include:
Help with indoor and outdoor home maintenance for older adults so they can continue to live independently in their own homes. Seasonal and ongoing opportunities available. Great for community and youth groups.
Crisis Nursery –
Licensed child care and foster care providers can provide short-term care for children whose families are working through a crisis. Experienced social workers/crisis response workers can help to answer calls from families. Training and supervision are provided. Flexible weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
Food Support Outreach
Help individuals complete applications for the food support program that helps low-income families, seniors, and individuals get the food they need for sound nutrition and well-balanced meals. Volunteers are also needed to attend local events to educate the public about the food support program. Training is provided.
Energy Assistance Program
Share your time and skills with our Energy Assistance program. Help with filing information. Flexible mornings and afternoons during the duration of the Energy Assistance Program.
Share your time and skills with our Head Start preschool program. Help with field trips and classroom activities, share a story about your family heritage, or teach children about your job or hobby. Flexible mornings and afternoons during the school year.
Help provide hot meals to seniors by volunteering as a Meals on Wheels driver or at a congregate dining site. Weekday mornings, flexible commitment.
