Dear Friends of CASI,
As always, we want to thank all of you for your support of our mission, “To support and empower families and community to reach self-sufficiency”. Strong community support results in a sound foundation for us to serve those who are in the most need within our region.
2017 was an exciting year at CASI. We completed our Resource Development Plan and are making strides to accomplish our goals set forth in the plan. One of our goals is to further meet the needs of our veterans and their families. Our Family Development and Crisis Assistance Program for Veterans received an award from IHCDA in the amount of $4.128 in Neighborhood Assistance Program tax credits to be sold. which resulted in $8,256 in funds for our veterans program.
We received grant funds from the Indiana State Department of Health’s Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Commission (TPC) to fund a tobacco control capacity building program for Clark County. With this program. we are able to refer people to the 1-800- QUITLINE and build a coalition with key stakeholders within Clark County, including schools, organizations, businesses, and physicians who will further broaden our outreach.
Our Makers of Change Awards Banquet well surpassed our fund raising goal for that event We also exceeded our goal for the number of attendees. We have officially outgrown hosting the event at CASI and are excited about moving it to a local venue to accommodate more people in 2018.
The most exciting news we learned in 2017 is that we are in negotiation to purchase and move into the Spring Hill Elementary School, once Greater Clark County Schools transitions the attending students to their new schools. We are elated about having a new place to call our home!
In conclusion, we are very excited about what the future holds for CASI. We are looking forward to forming new partnerships within the communities we serve. We are committed to offering existing and expanded services to those most in need and to ultimately help them reach self-sufficiency.
