I want to thank you and early head start making the flyers. It got everybody helping out and also being a great teacher to my son. I was able to do first eye and it was a miracle because I can see my kids. I will be able to get the other eye done. Thanks for being part of this miracle and making it come true.”

After 4 years of savings and receiving matches, completing 12 hours of financial literacy training and thirteen weeks of small business development training at Community Action of Southern IN. we was ready to help pay the tuition for our son and expand our struggling business. The training provided by CASI’s IDA program showed us the things we needed to correct in our spending habits and gave us the knowledge to manage our business.
A portion of their savings was used for education expenses for their son Colin who attended Southern Virginia University. The remaining savings was used to pay expenses for a small business they started in Charlestown, Indiana. “The Charlestown Skate Shack” is a retail skate board shop that caters to the Youth and Young Adults in the Charlestown Indiana and surrounding communities. The store provides boards, accessories and concessions to those attending the local skate board park in the city.
Thanks CASI, you was there when we needed you most

“Jerri said if it we not for the IDA program she would be on the streets after she lost her job.”
Jerri has participated in the IDA programs and microenterprise trainings since 2008, to date she has received 4 years of 3:1 matches. Her goal at inception was to pay for education expenses for her 2 daughters that attended IUS. A portion of her savings has done just that. She decided also to use some of her savings/match funds to start a small business, grooming dog from her home in Pekin, Indiana.
She successfully graduated from our 13 week micro-enterprise class so she would be eligible to use her IDA funds for her business “Klassic K-9 Grooming by Jerri”
Recently, she used a portion of her savings to purchase inventory to expand her business as a mobile grooming business.
Jerri, was laid off from her regular job and is very thankful to have participated in the IDA program and the Micro-Enterprise program. Her business has continued to grow and is giving her the capital needed to pay her mortgage and other bills. Jerri continues to run her business successfully and never returned to the job she was laid off from
